Nutrition days 1 and 2...forgot!

Oops... I forgot to talk about what I ate! Yesterday I definitely did NOT eat right... oatmeal for breakfast, which was good. For lunch we ate leftover manicotti from the night before. Which wasn't too bad, except I didn't have any whole wheat manicotti, so I used white. But it was filled with spinach, so at least I had that going :). But dinner - oh so bad. We ate at Winghouse and I had side salad with Ranch : \, 7 breaded wings, and water. Definitely not good, but we never go to Winghouse, so I figured I mine as well eat what I wanted! Then when we got home I think I ate some crackers and cheese... and a coke. BUT, we have half a case of coke left from a party, so I figured I may finish it up. Oh well.

Today wasn't too much better I guess. I had nothing for breakfast...which is so not good. Then met my friend for coffee and we split an embarrassingly-high-in-calories-and-sugar frozen coffee drink. Later on at my mom's house I had a small bowl of leftover vegetables and noodles. When I got home, after I workout out, I made myself a plain yogurt-spinach-frozen berries-wheat germ-and agave smoothie, which was my dinner. We had church tonight, so now I'm home eating some cheezits and buffalo chicken tenders with Bleu cheese dressing...and a coke. BUT the coke is almost out (two more left). I'm not trying to lose weight, so I'm not not too worried about calorie consumption, but my big goal is to be healthy, so I am working on cutting out all the junk. I really enjoy healthy food, but convenience food is so much more, well, convenient. I just have to start sucking it up and do the extra work!

That's all for tonight, I'll be back tomorrow with more updates!

My introduction!

I didn't make it back on last night, so here is my introduction! I am a mom of 2 - Kailyn, 3 1/2 and Kara, 6 months. I have been married for almost 6 years (anniversary on Feb.28). I am the oldest of 8 kids and my family is extremely close. My mom and dad are two of my best friends! After I had my first daughter, Kailyn, I got in the best shape of my life...I was also only 22 at the time, so that wasn't too hard. I'm only three years older now, but after having one more child, my body is significantly different. Maybe others wouldn't notice too much, I still am extremely blessed and cannot complain about my genes, but I notice the difference. And it is definitely A LOT harder to fit exercise in with two kids instead of one. So basically since the time my second daughter, Kara, was born, six months ago, at best I have only exercised sporadically. But I am here to change all of that! I am eager to feel totally comfortable and confident in my body again. Fortunately, I have a body type where results typically show fast, although not quite as fast since I have had children. My downfall in working out is that I get bored very easily. After a couple weeks I'm really bored with the routine I'm doing, but I feel like I can't switch it up so frequently. And I'm also an "all or nothing" type person...if I don't have enough time or energy to do a full workout, I tend to feel like there will be no point in doing it - which I know is wrong, but I still think that way anyway. So, I know I just need to jump right in there and start doing it. If I don't, I won't ever start. And this is what I will chronicle in my blog :) I know I will fail sometimes, but as long as I stick it out, I will succeed overall!

So, yesterday I did 30 minutes of yoga and I woke up this morning with my back, arms and shoulders aching...but I thought I had just slept wrong or something. It had been so long since I had done yoga, I forgot how much it worked my upper body! It wasn't until halfway through the day when I remembered, and thought, "yes!" I love that sore post-workout feeling - it lets me know I've done something :). So today I did my lower body workout. And it was tough. But I did it, and I know I'll be feeling it tomorrow. Awesome.

Day 1!

Hey everyone! I realize I havn't posted an introduction yet, but I only have a few minutes before my husband, kids & I meet my parents for coffee - so my intro will come tonight!

Day 1 of regularly incorporating exercise into my routine and paying attention to everything that goes in my body! I just did a yoga workout focused on strength & energizing flow. I have to say I can definitely tell I havn't been workout out regularly, or often! I really enjoy yoga, but just haven't done it at all since daughter #2 was born. I also really like going to classes much more than using a video at home, but this is all I can do right now, so it's better than nothing! I do feel energized and like I used some muscle, although I know there's no way I could rely on yoga (this kind anyway) to get me into the shape I want to be in. But yoga always leaves me feeling energized (unless I'm doing a stress relief or relaxing yoga, then I generally feel like I want to crawl into bed!) and more focused/centered.

Later today a friend is coming over & I'm leaving the girls with my husband while we go to the gym to walk on the treadmills. The treadmill is one thing I have done at more recent intervals but definitely not often enough. I used to love using the elliptical, but in the past year I actually enjoy the treadmill more...not really sure why. When I post my introduction later on today I'll go into my eating plan and how I've done with that also!
